Creating equal opportunities for all

Uplifting gender equity is essential for building strong, inclusive communities. It ensures that people of all genders can access education, employment and healthcare and fully participate in community life. It also leads to better social and economic outcomes, reduces inequality and strengthens community wellbeing. Many charitable organizations are advancing this work in our region by improving access to education, healthcare, sexual assault supports and other services.

Support Gender Equity

There are a number of ways you can support gender equity in our community, including:

Donate to the Gender Equity Community Action Fund to pool your funds with other donors’ gifts. The funds are then granted strategically to many organizations within the cause area through the Community Grants Program and other equitable granting initiatives.
Set up a Donor Advised Fund to support a cause of your choice.
Support a Hosted Organization Fund.

Pacific Opera: Setting the Stage for Unity Through Art

The arts industry has long been a challenging space for gender equity. Women, particularly in leadership, have historically been underrepresented. With support from the Victoria Foundation’s gender equity initiatives, Pacific Opera Victoria is taking meaningful steps to support women pursuing careers in opera.
