Vital Grant Stream
Program overview
To help strengthen wellbeing in our community, grants through our flagship granting program provide eligible organizations with flexible, general operating and program funding. This ensures that they can focus on strengthening their services, uplifting the communities they serve and achieving their wider missions.
As part of the Community Grants Program, the Vital Grant Stream prioritizes organizations that are based and operating within the capital region, are led by or serve equity-deserving groups and demonstrate strong financial need. It also funds organizations working across a range of cause areas including the environment, racial equity, food security, housing, health, homelessness, gender equality, the arts, sports and recreation and more!

Key 2026 program dates
Applications for the 2026 Vital Grant Stream for requests up to $30,000 will be accepted from February 3 to March 10, 2026. Our adjudication process takes approximately 4 months before we make our grant recipient announcement in July of each year.
