Uplifting

Established in 1936, the Victoria Foundation is Canada’s second-oldest community foundation and sixth largest of over 200 nation-wide. We manage charitable gifts from donors whose generosity allows us to create permanent, income-earning funds. The proceeds from these funds are then distributed as grants for charitable or educational purposes. Over the years, we have invested more than $373 million in people, projects and charitable organizations that strengthen communities in BC and throughout Canada.

Imagine Canada Accreditation

The Victoria Foundation was one of 17 organizations in Canada that received Imagine Canada Standards Accreditation in the pilot phase in 2012. We earned the “trustmark” of approval for our business practices in responsible self-governance, budget transparency and ethical fundraising. In the years since, we have continued to receive re-accreditation as a result of our ongoing compliance of the standards for membership.
