With deep roots in our local charitable sector, we provide thoughtful, effective grants using a trust-based philanthropy approach to uplift our community. We distribute millions of dollars into the community every year through open grant calls, including our Community Grants Program, Donor Advised Funds, Donor Designated Funds, Hosted Organization Funds and more.
Today, growing demand for services, rising costs and shrinking budgets mean grants are an increasingly important source of revenue for non-profits. This funding helps them strengthen their services, uplift the communities they serve and achieve their missions. That’s why we provide eligible organizations with flexible, general operating and program funding. Across our region, inspiring organizations are tackling complex challenges, and we’re here to help them thrive.

Research and collaboration guide our granting priorities
As a broad-based funder, we take our responsibility seriously to understand the issues impacting our community and the charitable organizations working to solve them. We participate in strategic partnerships and research collaborations to gain deeper insight into the needs, challenges and opportunities of our local charitable sector. We also intentionally engage community members with diverse perspectives and experiences as subject matter experts and committee members. They help inform our granting priorities and guide our application review processes.
We also draw on data from the State of the Sector Reports, Architects of Belonging, Victoria’s Vital Signs report and information and data collected during collaborative community events to help inform our granting processes. Through these efforts, our goal is to save charitable organizations time and better support their efforts so they can continue to accelerate impact in our community.
