Building capacity, developing innovative solutions

This program supported social purpose organizations in developing innovative solutions to pressing social, cultural and environmental challenges across Canada. Its goal was help them build their capacity to participate in Canada’s growing social finance marketplace and prepare for the Government of Canada’s broader investment in social finance via the Social Finance Fund. Funding of up to $75,000 was used to create, manage and expand their enterprises in order to get ready to accept investment.

This nationwide $50 million renewed investment was made by the Government of Canada. The Victoria Foundation proudly partnered with Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada to distribute funds to local social purpose organizations. Special thank you to Coast Capital for providing $155,900 in funding to support the program on Vancouver Island.
