Gulf Islands Families Together Society (GIFTS) supports people with developmental disabilities and is governed by a volunteer board of directors, consisting of family members, self-advocates, and community members. GIFTS was originally formed by families to ensure that their children living with disabilities were supported to participate in activities of their choice in their community. They recognize the right to employment, social, recreational and educational access, and housing in their community.
