Castilleja Conservation Society (CCS) has facilitated the community-led restoration of Oak Bay’s natural areas that contain some of the last remaining fragments of endangered maritime meadow ecosystems. Once abundant along the coast of Victoria and Oak Bay, these unique and disappearing systems are home to species-at-risk that are found nowhere else in Canada and have some of the highest levels of biodiversity of any terrestrial ecosystem in the country.
