$6.19 million granted to 243 local organizations
$6,197,224 was distributed in 2026 to 243 charitable organizations in the capital region through the Community Grants Program Vital Stream. This annual program aims to help strengthen the charitable sector and long-term resilience of the community by providing organizations with flexible, general operating and programming funding.

76% of 2026 Vital Stream grants supported organizations or projects that significantly benefited equity-deserving populations including Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, 2SLGBTQIA+, women, children and youth, persons with disabilities and newcomers.
Support was also prioritized for organizations working to address issue areas that received a C+ grade or lower in the 2025 Vital Signs program, including housing, health and wellness, safety and standard of living.

The Victoria Foundation works closely with generous donors in our community to provide funding for the program. A majority of the $6.19 million distributed came from funds held and managed at the Victoria Foundation, where donors have given the Foundation the discretion to distribute annual grants. $2.3 million came from Donor Advised Funds and Community Action Funds where individuals can donate directly to issue areas including housing, health and wellness, food security and more. We are grateful to the donors who have supported our community.

2026 Vital Stream grant recipients
To help strengthen wellbeing in our community, grants through the Vital Grant Stream provide eligible organizations with flexible, general operating and program funding. This ensures that they can focus on strengthening their services, uplifting the communities they serve and achieving their wider missions. It also prioritizes organizations that are based and operating within the capital region, are led by or serve equity-deserving groups and demonstrate strong financial need. It funds organizations working across a range of cause areas including the environment, racial equity, food security, housing, health, homelessness, gender equality, the arts, sports and recreation and more!
